Big Bands packed the dance halls in the 1930's and 40's. American soldiers looked forward to listening and dancing to this upbeat swing music on both the home and war fronts. So tap your feet to the sounds of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Louis Armstrong, and more.

The Lake Station-New Chicago Branch library is located right next to City Hall on Central Avenue in Lake Station.
